Founded by a group of visionary young people with a holistic vision to empower and save humanity, Access Youth Initiative Uganda (AYI-Uganda) is a youth, children and women driven organization that simultaneously addresses fundamental challenges facing local communities related to Human rights and Democracy Building, Peace, Justice and Reconciliation, Adolescent Reproductive Health, Education, youth Economic empowerment, Crime Prevention, and Leadership Development.
AYI-Uganda is a comprehensive youth organization that integrates school, work, counseling, social action, leadership development, and personal transformation. The holistic, integrated program design allows young people to acquire essential basic skills, practice life and employment readiness skills, while empowering disadvantaged young people (10-30 years) with skills that will enable them reach their full potential and become useful citizens of Uganda.
AYI-Uganda is legally registered, as a Non-Governmental human rights organization under the Non-Governmental Organizations Registration Statute 1989. It is a charitable, not-for-profit organization. It is duly incorporated under the Companies Act, Cap.110 as a body corporate. The organization first operated as a Community-Based Organization.
