We have made remarkable achievements in our target communities, and defining a long-term vision of sustainability.
Our mission is to provide a platform where young people and their communities can share skills, participate in promoting human rights awareness while exploring innate abilities towards lasting development on a foundation of equity. We believe in empowering young people’s access to information, services and rights such that they can build collective platforms to challenge and develop their leadership potential.

AYI's Brief History
Access Youth Initiative Uganda (AYI) is a national, non-partisan and non-profit Civil Society Organization registered in Uganda as a Non-Governmental Organization. AYI was founded in 2010 as an independent youth initiative with the overall mission to provide a platform where young people and their communities can share skills, participate in promoting human rights awareness while exploring innate abilities towards lasting development on a foundation of equity. It was conceived by a group of young people, then student leaders in Uganda’s public Universities, who during the formative days of reintroduced plural politics in Uganda were concerned about the status of the country’s democracy, social and economic development and the general wellbeing of young people in Uganda.
AYI has evolved into a premier youth organization, registering phenomenal growth in stature through fostering positive change by mobilizing youth consciousness and nurturing young ethical leadership across the Republic. Today, AYI has, to its credit, an increased youth consciousness through participation in critical development processes, enhanced visibility of young people occupying leadership positions in various sectors and the proliferation of youth led groups aimed at making a difference.
OUR MISSION
To provide a platform where young people and their communities can share skills, participate in promoting human rights awareness while exploring innate abilities towards lasting development on a foundation of equity.
OUR VISION
The youth we serve today become tomorrow’s advocates and mentors creating social change, individually and collectively.
VALUES
Young people are at the centre of our work. Locally, our youth-oriented campaigns and outreach initiatives are grounded in the belief that every young person’s contribution, no matter how small, deserves to be valued and honored.
