Access Youth Initiative Uganda (AYI-Uganda) is a legally registered indigenous women and youth led nonprofit organization established to address the health, livelihood and legal needs of marginalized youth, women and girls in Uganda. Founded to contribute towards ending violence and discrimination against women and girls, we utilize social and legal tools for the promotion and protection of women and girls’ rights in Uganda with a strong focus on people with disabilities.
Over the last 5 years, AYI has developed substantial expertise in running inclusive programs with marginalized and most-at-risk groups like refugees, IDUs, and sex workers alongside girls, women, and young refugees in urban and rural Uganda.
AYI emphasizes challenging negative social norms and addressing gender inequality using a peer-to-peer approach, and engaging young people to advocate for themselves and access crucial information and services.
"We are a small but mighty activist organization that prevents violence against women and children."
